If there was any doubt to the crossover appeal of Manny Pacquiao, it should all be put to rest with the announcement that the Filipino star did 700,000 pay-per-view buys for his March 13 shutout of Joshua Clottey.  The fight took place at Cowboys Stadium which saw nearly 51,000 people pass through the turnstiles to witness the fight live.  Perhaps the most remarkable realization of this staggering PPV buy rate, lies in the fact that Pacquiao basically shouldered this promotion on his own.  Outside the most die hard boxing fan, few even knew who Joshua Clottey was.

ESPN's Dan Rafael reports that the breakdown of the PPV numbers goes as follows: 350,000 buys from cable homes, 310,000 from satellite home, and 40,000 from telco homes.  The 700,000 buys translates to $35.3 million in domestic television revenue.
