Well, maybe. Looks like boxing database, but oft-inaccurate, Boxrec.com has unheralded Brazilian Carlos Oliveria (25-2, 19 KOs) tabbed as Oak Cliff's own Roberto Marroquin's next opponent. Apparently, the two will tango on the undercard of the Manny Pacquiao - Antonio Margarito mega-fight taking place November 13 at Cowboys Stadium. Despite Oliveria's impressive professional record, it must be stated that he has fought almost exclusively in his native Brazil with the lone exception of a TKO loss to Diego Magdaleno in Las Vegas earlier this month.
Still, while Oliveria represents the great unknown, what we do know about the majority of South American fighters is that they can punch hard, and their stamina is usually on point. Marroquin (15-0, 12 KOs) has been on a meteoric rise as of late. Impressive victory, after victory, and the teaming up with famed trainer Freddie Roach have solidified him as a can't-miss prospect.
More news as it develops.
