Dallas – The official results from last Saturday night’s Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinals at the American Airlines Center
MAIN EVENT
Alistair Overeem (35-11) defeated Fabricio Werdum (14-5-1) via unanimous decision. Scores were 30-27, 30-27, and 29-28.
Josh Barnett (30-5) scores a second round submission (arm triangle) over Brett Rogers (11-3). The official time of the submission was 1:17 into the second round.
MAIN CARD
Jorge Masvidal (22-6) scored a unanimous decision over K.J. Noons (9-3). Scores were 30-27 on all three cards.
Daniel Cormier (8-0) scored a unanimous decision victory over Jeff Monson (42-12). Scores were 30-27 on all three cards.
Chad Griggs (11-1) scored a first round technical knockout over Valentijn Overeem (29-26). The official time of the fight stoppage was 2:08 in round one.
PRELIMINARY CARD
Gesias “JZ” Cavalcante 15-4-1 versus Justin Wilcox (11-3) ruled a no contest as Wilcox can’t continue after taking a thumb to the eye in the second round.

Isaac Vallie-Flag (12-3-1) grinded out a three round split decision victory over Brian Melancon (5-2). Scores were 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.
