North Texas Fisticuffs (NTF) is a blog dedicated to chronicling the surging boxing and mixed martial arts scene taking place in the Dallas-Fort Worth, and Austin metropolises. Designed with the fan’s perspective in mind, North Texas Fisticuffs has rapidly become a destination for fight fans in Texas to get their daily fix on the goings on in the Northern half of the state.
Though only a few months past our one-year anniversary, we here at North Texas Fisticuffs are proud to become the newest member to the ever growing Bloguin network of blogs. We love our new digs, and hope you do to. We want to hear from you, the fans, so please leave comments or contact us with your thoughts, and opinions. The North Texas Fisticuffs Team
Sean A. Malone – A veteran fight writer of almost four years, Sean’s infatuation with the fight game sprung from his days of playing Mike Tyson’s Punch Out on his Nintendo as a child. This love of all things fight related was further bolstered upon a summer spent watching reruns of the Karate Kid. Sean credits his love and dedication for the pseudo success he has attained and counts the moment he was elected into the Boxing Writers Association of America as the pinnacle of his writing career. In addition to running North Texas Fisticuffs, Sean is also a writer for Undefeated Magazine and contributer to the In The Clinch blog on ESPNDallas.com, and Texas Combat Sports.
Ed Garza – A fixture ringside for some of the biggest fights in Texas, Ed brings an invaluable eye for talent and breath-taking pictures to North Texas Fisticuffs. A long-time boxing insider, Ed has spent time in a number of capacities within the fight game, including fighter management and boxing promotions. One of the most talented up-and-coming fight photojournalists in the game, Ed is truly a valued addition to this site. Ed's fight pics can also been seen monthly in Undefeated Magazine.
Raul Rangel - Not only does Raul write about MMA, he puts his money where his mouth is and trains at the Spartan Pit with Rudy Hernandez in San Antonio. He also did professional wrestling for a few years and left before he became Randy “The Ram” Robinson. Raul started writing columns for texasfighter.org, which is home of Texas Amateur Mixed Martial Arts promotion, and from there he started writing for Undefeated Magazine. His work has been featured on paulbuentello.com as well as appearing on ESPN, San Antonio 1250 am, as an MMA analyst.
Sergio Hernandez - Sergio Hernandez is perhaps best known for his work as co-host of the wildly entertaining Tap or Snap Radio which was broadcast globally via the web on the Fish Bowl Radio Network. Inarguably, Sergio is one of the most knowledgeable and passionate mixed martial arts fans to reside here in North Texas. Sergio joins North Texas Fisticuffs as our ace MMA Editor.
Cyndi Torres – Few individuals can match Cyndi’s passion for the sport of amateur boxing. Cyndi has long held the distinction as one of the most respected voices in the North Texas amateur boxing scene. Few individuals can match Cyndi’s passion for the sport of amateur boxing. Cyndi’s addition to the team is a welcomed one, and much appreciated as she is often the one tasked with keeping the comments on the site civil.
